ITEMS REQUIRED WHEN BUILDING A NEW HOUSE
The following are some of the items required when building a new house.
- SD Smoke Detectors - 110 volt, battery backed, wired in series. Must be placed in ALL sleeping rooms and in the vicinity of sleeping rooms. A smoke detector must also be placed on the lower level and basement;
- Windows in Sleeping Rooms require 5.7 sq. ft. of net clear opening with no more than 44: from the floor to the top of the window sill;
- Bathrooms without windows require an exhaust fan vented into attic above insulation, and/or to the outside;
- Tempered glass must be used in bathrooms if windows are in close proximity to the tub, shower, etc;
- C.O. Detectors must be installed if natural or propane gas is used;
- Soil Treatment Letter must be mailed or brought to this Office and must contain the owner's name, building permit number, and address. To avoid any delays, please make sure your exterminator gets this information to us;
- Walls over 10 feet shall be latterly supported or justified by analysis;
- Cross Section with load path required;
- Plumbing height and riser drawing, and
- Check hazardous locations in 2006 International Building Code for tempered glazing.
