PROCEDURES FOR SCHEDULING
REQUIRED BUILDING INSPECTIONS

Required Inspections are as follows:

1st Inspection - FOOTING - After footing trenches have been opened - steel is in place (2 No. 5/8's Rebar) and Grade staked, Soil Must Be Treated and Footer Inspected Prior to any concrete being poured. Do not schedule your inspection for the day you want to pour.

2nd Inspection - FRAMING - After all framing, rough-in electrical, plumbing and mechanical is completed. BEFORE drywall or any other wall or ceiling cover is installed.

3rd Inspection - FINAL - After everything is completed; Before anyone moves in.

SCHEDULING INSPECTIONS

To schedule an inspection call (423) 942-8019 .

You must have the following information to schedule an inspection:
 
1) Building Permit No.
2) Street Address & Directions
3) Name of Owner and type of inspection being requested.

All inspections called in Before 2:00 P.M. will be scheduled for the next day. Any inspections called in After 2:00 P.M. will be scheduled for the day after. Example: Called in at 2:30 P.M. on Monday will be placed on Wednesday's Inspection List.

Framing and Final Inspection will be scheduled Monday through Thursday. Footing Inspections will be scheduled Monday through Friday.

Staff schedules inspections, not the Building Inspector. You can schedule inspections Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. - Noon and 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. The inspection will be done between 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., footings will be done first. We don't make appointments and therefore can't give a specific time as to when the Inspector will arrive.

REQUESTS FOR BUILDING INSPECTIONS WHICH ARE LEFT ON THE ANSWERING MACHINE WILL NOT BE SCHEDULED!
